Gallery was designed with privacy as a core principle. Your photos, videos, metadata, indexes and related information are processed directly on your device instead of being sent to external servers.
The App does not upload your personal gallery data to servers operated by us or by third parties unless you explicitly choose to transfer it to a destination you own / control , like your other device, computer, network storage.
This Privacy Policy describes how the Gallery application ("the App") handles information.
The App may access and process information stored on your device in order to provide its functionality. This may include:
This information is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to servers operated by us or by third parties, unless you explicitly choose to transfer it to a destination you control.
Gallery may analyze photos on the device to provide features such as image categories and filtering.
Image analysis used by the App is performed locally on your device. Your photos are not uploaded to us or to third-party servers for image analysis.
Photos and videos may contain location information recorded by the device that created them. Gallery may read this information to provide features such as grouping or filtering media by location.
Location information read from media files is processed locally and is not transmitted to us or to third-party servers.
Gallery can allow you to share your gallery with another device, such as an Android TV, phone, tablet or computer, over your local network.
When you enable these features, selected media and related information may be transferred directly between devices on your network. These transfers are initiated and controlled by you and do not pass through servers operated by us.
The App may allow you to access or back up media to storage locations that you configure, such as a NAS or SMB network share.
Connections to these storage locations are made directly from your device. We do not receive your media, storage credentials or backup contents.
Gallery may offer optional paid features using Google Play Billing.
Payments are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your credit card number, bank account information or other payment credentials.
The App may receive information from Google Play indicating whether an applicable purchase has been made so that paid features can be enabled. This information is used locally by the App.
Google's handling of information related to Google Play is governed by Google's own privacy policies and terms.
Gallery does not use advertising SDKs or general-purpose analytics services to track your activity in the App.
Some on-device features use Google ML Kit. Photos and other media processed by ML Kit are analyzed locally on your device and are not sent to Google for analysis.
ML Kit may send Google limited technical information, such as device and application information, installation identifiers, feature usage events, performance measurements and error codes. Google uses this information for diagnostics and usage analytics, including maintaining and improving ML Kit. This technical information does not include the photos or videos being analyzed or the results produced from them.
According to Google, information collected by ML Kit is encrypted in transit and is not shared by ML Kit with third parties.
Gallery does not automatically send its own crash reports or diagnostic logs to us.
You may choose to contact us by email for technical support.
When contacting support, you decide what information to include in your email. The App may allow you to copy or include diagnostic information, such as an error log. You can inspect this information before sending it.
Diagnostic information is not automatically transmitted to us.
If you send us an email, we will receive your email address and the information that you choose to include in your message. This information is used only as necessary to respond to your request, investigate the reported problem and provide support.
Because Gallery does not upload your gallery information to servers operated by us, we do not maintain server-side copies of your photos, videos, gallery indexes or media metadata.
Information voluntarily provided through support email may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and maintain relevant support records.
You may contact us if you would like information that you previously sent to support to be deleted, where applicable.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your photos, videos or other gallery information with advertisers, data brokers or analytics providers.
Data may leave your device when you explicitly use features that transfer information to destinations you control, such as another device, a web browser on your local network or network storage.
Gallery is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted outside your device. However, no software or network connection can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
When using local network sharing, remote galleries, NAS storage or backup features, you are responsible for the security of the devices and networks to which you connect.
Gallery is not designed to collect personal information from children. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children through servers operated by us.
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality or privacy practices change. The updated version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be changed accordingly.
